Position and Unit Descriptions
Aquatics
Be a part of the team that helps people feel safe and comfortable in the water. The aquatics staff create a safe and welcoming environment in our pools. From teaching lessons to new and veteran swimmers, lifeguarding and pool supervision, our staff take pride in providing a great experience for all who visit our aquatic facilities.
Recreation Assistant
Our Recreation Assistants create a safe, welcoming environment so our participants can have the best experience possible. Staff in this role greet, checkout equipment, answer questions, and make guests feel welcome and comfortable in our facilities.
Operations Assistant
Providing top-notch facilities and equipment is a standard of excellence for Recreational Sports, and nobody is more important in achieving this than our Operations Assistants. The behind the scenes work and attention to detail in keeping facilities and equipment clean and optimally maintained contribute to the overall experience. Help us continue to make our facilities some of the best in the country!
Member Services
Be a part of the team that keeps everything running smoothly and interacts with participants more than any other. Our people make the biggest difference in providing an exceptional experience. The Member Services Lead is a leadership position that answers questions, completes transactions and provides smiles at every turn. Become an expert multi-tasker, connect with our participants and be a part of an exceptional team.
Intramural Sports
There is no better way to have fun with friends or make new ones than Intramural Sports. Our team makes sure games are on time, fair, safe and fun! We consistently hear that experiences from Intramural Sports are some of the fondest memories created at IU. If you want to stay engaged with sports you have played or learn new sports from the lens of an official, we would love to have you on our team.
Outreach
If you love and appreciate what can be gained by participating with Recreational Sports and are eager to help encourage others to do so you might be a perfect fit for the Outreach Team! We believe that there is something for everyone at Recreational Sports and helping someone find their "something" is incredibly rewarding and important.
Risk Management
Keeping participants and staff safe in our facility is of the utmost importance to our First Responders. If you are a certified EMR or higher, enjoy working in a diverse environment and contributing positively to the exceptional experience of others, this might be the team for you!
Group Exercise
Be the energetic, motivating force that guides people through their workout! Our Group Exercise team provides a diverse offering of sessions to highlight the wide skill set of our leaders and interests of our participants. Let your dazzling personality shine through as you connect people to an experience that you all will love!
Personal Training
Help people achieve their aspirations of health and wellness! Our team of certified personal trainers work with clients to create safe, healthy habits for life. Through one-on-one coaching, our personal trainers are able to connect with their clients and provide an exceptional, individualized experience catered for each person.
Tennis Center
The Tennis Center strives to create a one of a kind experience for our participants to make them feel at home. From assisting in providing clinics to answering questions, and everything in between, our team is there to assist participants of all ages to achieve their tennis and fitness goals. No matter your role, you're able to take pride in providing a positive experience for each individual.
Outdoor Adventures
IU Outdoor Adventures serves as a gateway to outdoor involvement for students and the greater Bloomington community. If you have a passion for outdoor adventure and a desire to lead, consider joining our team. With approximately 50 student and staff Outdoor Leaders, Outdoor Adventures is responsible for facilitating more than 40 IUOA trips and workshops each year.
