What does “Your Way” mean? Instead of a traditional 5K, “Your Way” means that you can do 30 minutes of any physical activity that makes you happy! You can run, cycle, hike, lift weights, swim, dance, or even join a Recreational Sports Group Exercise session! Do I have to be in Bloomington to participate? This year, you can participate in the JB5K from anywhere! Will you ship packets? Yes, packets will be shipped to participants who are out of the area for $9. Can minors (under age 18) sign up? A parent or legal guardian can register people under the age of 18. IU students under the age of 18 may register themselves. When can I register/complete my activity? You can register and complete your activity anytime between March 15 and April 30! What is the powder? The powder is cornstarch that has been colored with food grade food coloring – it’s safe and environmentally friendly! We recommend using the powder outdoors, as it can be a challenge to clean up. Does the powder stain? It can stain so don’t wear anything you really care about! Brush off loose powder before going inside to clean up. Can I buy extra powder? You have the option to purchase two extra powder packets when you register. You can also buy a JB5K Yowzie. What is the RHA discount and who qualifies? The Residence Hall Association (RHA) discount covers $5 of the registration fee. People who live in campus residence halls qualify, and will get the discount automatically when they register. How do I enter to win prizes? We will have random drawings for gift certificates from Bucceto’s, Delivery.com and Pizza X the first week in May. Everyone who registers gets one entry, but you can get an additional entry if you post photos on social media with #JB5K. Who plans the JB5K? This event is planned by the amazing student committee working with the RS Special Events team. Jill’s parents also volunteer their time to ensure the JB5K is a success! Can I volunteer at the event? Since this is a virtual event, there are no volunteers. Select the Student Committee button above to learn more about applying for the JB5K Student Steering Committee. Will THE JB5K be back to normal next year? We are counting the days and planning on having an in person event on October 9, 2021!
