Do I have to have a membership? No, you do not need to have a membership to work with a personal trainer. What is the minimum number of sessions that I can purchase? For your initial group of sessions the minimum number is three. After that you may renew for one or more sessions. How long do I have to complete the sessions that I purchase? It varies. For 3, 6, and 8 sessions you have three months. For 10, 12, and 16 sessions you have six months. Finally, for the 32 session package you have a full year before the sessions expire. How long is a session? Each session that you purchase is one hour. What happens during a session? Each session is uniquely designed by your trainer to help you systematically work toward your fitness goals. It may include strength training, flexibility, cardio training, high intensity interval training, yoga, body weight training, or any combination of the above. Can I bring a partner in with me for a session with my trainer? No, but there is a buddy package where the two of you can sign up to work with the same trainer. It’s actually a really good deal too! Are the personal trainers certified? Yes! In addition, they go through a three round interview process before they are hired and then additional training before they start working with clients. Are all of the personal trainers students? No, while some of the trainers are, not all of the trainers are students. If you have a preference, we will work with you to get you the right trainer. Do I need to get a body composition assessment? If your goals include muscle gain or fat loss we recommend it but it is not required to participate in the program. If you are receiving nutritional guidance from your trainer (eligible when signing up for 10 sessions or more) you will get a free body composition assessment at the beginning and then periodically a retest at the beginning of a session throughout your package. Where do sessions take place? Sessions can take place at either the SRSC or Intramural Center, whichever you prefer. Where do I park? Click the button above for information on SRSC Parking options. Visit the Office of Parking Operations site for parking on central campus close to the Intramural Center.
